Somerville Watch Co. is an independent watchmaking workshop and is not affiliated with, authorized by, endorsed by, or in any way associated with Seiko Watch Corporation, Seiko Holdings Corporation, Seiko Instruments Inc. (SII), or any of their subsidiaries or affiliates.
SEIKO and GRAND SEIKO are registered trademarks of Seiko Holdings Corporation. Any reference to these names on this website is made strictly for descriptive purposes - to identify the technical origin of movements or to describe design aesthetic - and implies no association whatsoever with the original trademark holders.
Each Somerville Watch Co. timepiece is an independently conceived, assembled, inspected, and tested custom creation. Our watches are produced using a combination of genuine TMI mechanical movements (such as the NH34, NH35, NH36, and VK series, manufactured by Time Module Inc.) and high-quality aftermarket components - including cases, bezels, dials, crystals, and hands - selected for their aesthetics and performance.
TMI (Time Module Inc.) operates as an independent movement manufacturer within the global watch supply industry. The use of TMI movements in our watches does not imply any relationship with Seiko or its affiliated entities.
In some instances, such as our Day-Date models, movements from manufacturers such as Miyota may be used. Read product descriptions for more detail.
Our watches are custom-modified pieces that may incorporate original or aftermarket dials, cases, and finishing. Where listings describe a piece as "custom" or "made to order," this indicates that the watch is individually assembled on commission and is not a product of Seiko or any other manufacturer's factory.
Modifications of this nature - including alterations to the case, dial, hands, crystal, and bezel - are widely accepted practices within the broader watch community. However, customers should be aware that Seiko does not service or repair modified watches. As watches built by Somerville Watch Co., all warranty related work may only be performed in-house.
Some of our designs are inspired by classic and iconic horological aesthetics. These are original creations in homage to watchmaking tradition, and Somerville Watch Co. makes no claim - directly or indirectly - that any of its products are genuine items produced by, or originating from, any third-party brand. We accept no liability for any misunderstanding arising from assumptions of brand association.
All movements and components used in our watches are sourced through legitimate commercial supply channels. We are committed to full transparency regarding the independent nature of our brand, our products, and our production process.
We guarantee that every Somerville Watch Co. timepiece contains a genuine movement and has been assembled and tested for proper functionality prior to shipment.
