- Water resistance: Individually tested to 3bars/30m of water resistance using stationary pressure testing. Watch is safe for light splashes, rain, and hand washing, but not for swimming. Water damage is not covered under our 1-year warranty. Dial markings indicating greater or lower depth ratings are for aesthetic purposes only.

What is a Mod?
A Mod is a custom, modified watch (hence the name: Mod). Each watch is hand assembled by us.
Our watches begin with a genuine, Japanese movement. We take this movement, and complement it with our own custom-produced dials, hands, cases, and bracelets. The specific movement used is listed in the description for each of our products.
Somerville Watch Company is not affiliated with any other brands. We are an independent watchmaker, and each watch we sell includes a 1-year in-house warranty. Since these watches are custom-made by our company, they will not include a papers.
Why do you use custom parts?
The answer is simple: because there is simply no way to deliver the premium aesthetics and functionality that we strive for when using fully stock watches as a base for our mods.

What is the difference between a Mod and an OEM Seiko watch?
Somerville Watch Company is an independent watchmaking workshop based in Somerville, MA. Every watch we sell is hand-assembled by us, built from genuine Japanese movements combined with custom-produced components - crafted to deliver an aesthetic you simply won't find off the shelf from an OEM manufacturer like Seiko.
Each of our Mods is a custom creation, carefully inspected and tested before it leaves our hands. We don't cut corners, and we don't dropship. What you get is a watch built for you, backed by our 1-year in-house warranty.
Where are you located, and do you have a physical location?
As our name implies, we are located in Somerville, Massachusetts.
We are an e-commerce only business, with no plans for opening a physical location.
For logistical reasons, we are unable to offer local pick-up from our workshop. We do however offer free shipping to all customers, regardless of their location.
How fast will my watch arrive?
For the most accurate delivery estimates and pricing, add an item to your cart and enter your mailing address at checkout. The checkout page will then populate with real-time pricing and delivery estimates provided by our delivery partners.
Shipments within the U.S. are FREE and arrive within 2-5 business days, depending on your location and distance from Somerville, MA.
What is your return policy?
Returns and exchanges for orders placed and shipped to the United States are accepted within 14 days of the delivery date of your watch and/or accessories, as long as the watch is in new, unwrapped, unworn condition, and has not been tampered with in any way. In particular, no refunds are possible when the plastic seals have been removed from the bracelet, as this indicates wear. Restocking fees apply. Unbeatable quality for the price point. Everything works as intended - the links were a bit tight prior to sizing it for my wrist but after removing a few on each side, it fits well and no longer has any issues clasping.

The look and feel of this watch is top notch. Love the attention to detail including the matching rose gold color hands on the dial and bracelet clasp on the blue flex strap. It’s very striking and fits great on the wrist. It’s my first watch from Somerville, but not my last. Highly recommend.

I purchased the Daytona mod "Les Mans". Great heft. Feels terrific on my wrist and a real looker. It reflects dozens of points of lights from the indices and the sub-dials. Incredible! Keeps near perfect time. A substantial build. Something I noticed while shopping around for a "mod" watch...Somerville uses 904L stainless steel for the cases and bracelet while other mods mostly use 316l. When I'm looking for my next watch, Somerville Watch Company will be my first stop. A very pleasant experience.

ust received my Seiko Daytona mod and I have to say — I’m seriously impressed. The craftsmanship on this watch is outstanding. The attention to detail, the weight, the finish, and the overall feel give it a premium presence on the wrist.
